Michael is the principal in charge of our Real Estate Team and was one of 21 founding principals participating in the re-purchase of the firm from First Indiana Corporation in 2004. Michael is responsible for coordinating the financial services needs of the firm’s real estate clients and is also a member of Somerset’s Operations Committee, which is charged with making operational decisions for the firm. Michael has extensive experience in complex tax issues related to real estate and construction, including tax-free exchanges, business valuations, estate and succession planning, cost segregation analysis and financial forecasting. He is committed to providing aggressive and proactive service to our clients. He is frequently asked to speak to industry groups, such as the Building Owners and Managers Association and the Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors. Michael regularly contributes articles to Indianapolis Business Journal, Heartland Real Estate Business and The Builders Journal.

Education

Michael graduated from Purdue University in 1990 with B.S. degrees in accounting and general management and received his M.B.A. in finance from Indiana University in Indianapolis.
